[ yukari stops mid-sentence and pauses to take several slow, deep breaths in an attempt to slow down her racing thoughts. nothing she's saying is making sense, she knows that. distilling two years and a few months of grief and longing into something coherent is a borderline impossible task, made even more difficult by her currently haywire emotions. she hates that she's leaning on someone who doesn't deserve to get bogged down with her baggage, hates even more that coming here proves she wasn't strong enough to get by on her own.
but hadn't the entirety of s.e.e.s's journey taught her that being there for one another was okay? this was okay. she was okay.
yukari takes another shaky breath and sighs, ]
Sure, it wasn't wrong, but I knew better. Or I was supposed to know better. It was so easy to get swept up in it, you know? Even if I knew it was a bad idea.
[She's quiet for a moment.] I don't really know what's happened between the three of you, and it's clear that there's quite a lot of history there that I probably couldn't understand right away.
You can stay here as long as you want. But when you're ready, I think you should talk with them, instead of assuming how they feel.
[ haru isn't one to beat around the bush with her opinions which she appreciates, even when she's feeling at her lowest. yukari knows she can't run away forever. she'll have to face both of them sooner rather than later and painfully, reluctantly talk about the swirling mass of emotions in her.
just. not yet.
she winces, but nods in agreement, sighing ]
There's...a lot and I promise I'll explain when I'm not--this. [ her lips quirk upward in the hint of a smile although the gesture doesn't reach her eyes. ] But thank you. Really. I won't be much of a bother.
Of course. You don't have to talk about it now-- or ever, if you don't want to. [She does, of course, want to think Yukari can trust her, but some things are hard to talk about.
She squeezes Yukari's legs right above the knee.] And you aren't a bother. You never are, I promise.
But please, if there's anything I can do for you now, do let me know, all right?
[With that, she stands.] Would you like to put your things in the bedroom?
