[For a second, Haru's tempted to just hug him, because... that's how things work here, right? But then she decides against it; she knows Yusuke has always been a little awkward and wouldn't want to make him uncomfortable!
She spins on the ball of her toe, heading back into the small apartment.
Which is rather colorful, with some tastefully arranged indoor flower pots along the walls.] You know, all things considered, I think I'm doing fairly well!
It's a little disorienting, I'll admit-- what with going to another world and all-- but we're probably prepared for that sort of thing more than most people, don't you think?
That's true. With some of the things we've seen in the Metaverse, this isn't so unusual at all.
[Prismatica reminds him of her father's Palace the most, though he won't dredge up that particular observation. He looks around at her apartment and pauses, surveying the artfully placed plants on the shelves, when he's reminded of the purpose of his visit.]
Ah! Here. [He opens his bag, and produces a tiny gift pouch tied with a pink bow. It contains seeds, as well as a helpful label of care instructions and plant properties (which Yusuke neglected to read) and a picture of what the flowers look like in full bloom (which he did look at, and decided they looked rather pretty).]
These are euphemia seeds, a wildflower native to this place. I thought you might enjoy growing some.
[It's okay, Yusuke. She's kind of made that comparison herself.
Haru's grabbed two plain mugs and is in the process of putting the teabags in and grabbing the steaming kettle when he produces the seeds. Haru sets the kettle back down, moving over to him and taking the pouch with the bow.
She looks at the seeds and up at Yusuke, and her expression is one of surprise before it turns into a disbelieving smile.
This time, she really does hug him, throwing her arms over his shoulders.] Yusuke-kun, that's so thoughtful of you!
My goodness, you didn't have to do this-- ah, I don't know where I'd grow them yet, but-- thank you! [She's beaming at him.
Maybe the slightest hints of tears in her eyes. This kindness is helping with all of the Stuff she's been through lately.]
[Yusuke lets out a quiet 'oh!' when Haru hugs him, not having expected that reaction. He awkwardly reaches to pat her on the back, unsure of how to react, yet he still has a warm smile on his face.]
You're welcome. Apparently they take a lot of care and attention to cultivate, but if anyone is capable of raising them to flower, it is you.
[And maybe it will be a challenge for her, compared to the more ordinary vegetables and flowers she's accustomed to.]
[Honestly, it surprised her too, a little, so when she pulls back, her cheeks are a little pink. Goodness... Yusuke's a friend of hers, but that was still a little forward, wasn't it?]
I shan't betray your faith in me, then! I'll find a way to grow these to flower as soon as I can.
Perhaps there's land in the country, like you were saying?
Hmm... I'm sure there is. Given that it's you, however, I'm sure you have the green thumb to cultivate these anywhere you please. Your roof garden was extremely impressive.
Still, I'm sure rural surroundings would be most beneficial, and appear the most beautiful.
[Imagine fields of pink wildflowers! That would be a sight.]
I had practice, you know! I started on the balcony at my home, and it was in similar conditions as the Shujin rooftop. [And honestly probably about the same size. Rich people, yo.] But it would be really lovely to grow them someplace they could really flourish.
I'll look into it, for sure! [She sets the pouch carefully down on the countertop, someplace she won't accidentally knock it, and resumes pouring the tea.]
[Yusuke takes a seat while she finishes preparing the tea. He looks momentarily baffled by the idea that a balcony large enough to house a garden could exist, much less that it could have as much space as a school rooftop??? Rich people...]
Ah, well, a merchant named Lumi sold them to me. He sells all manner of rare items at the Ware Wolf Shop.
Lumi at the Ware Wolf Shop... [She repeats, trying to commit it to memory.] All right! I'll be sure to inquire with him if I need any extra, but I'm sure this will do just fine as a starter.
[She turns, handing him a cup of steaming tea. Or a mug, really. She'd like nicer teacups, but these are what she's got.] Please let me know how you like it! It's a jasmine floral blend.
[Coffee may be her passion, but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy tea too! Besides, it's too late for anything but decaf, and she has no idea where to get that here.]
Technically, we've already consumed it. I read in a book that everything in the universe, including our own bodies, originates from the matter of dying stars. Isn't that a fascinating concept?
Hmm. [Haru pauses. She's well read, of course, and her grades are good, but she's no expert.] I suppose that makes sense! After all, hydrogen and helium were all that existed at the beginning of the universe, I believe; anything else would have to have been created some other way.
It is fascinating, Yusuke-kun. We're made of stars!
Yes, indeed. The more I learn about the universe, the more my perspective grows. In a way, it's similar to how entering the Metaverse broadened my perspective of the human heart... Was it the same for you, as well?
[About entering the Metaverse, he means. He doubts Haru lurks around planetariums having transcendence cat thoughts on astronomy.]
Or maybe it was just meeting everyone else, you know? I didn't know many people growing up. So, when you put it that way, coming here is pretty similar!

[He does like his coffee, but he's also something of an old-fashioned tea drinker too, so he can appreciate this just as much.]
